REPORTAlbuquerque appreciates the success of the "Bloody Sunday" screenings, January 30,2007.

On Tuesday January 30, 2007 the Irish Freedom Committee, Ronan MacLochlainn Cumann in Albuquerque NM observed the 35th. anniversary of "Bloody Sunday" January 30, 1972 with three screenings of the remarkable film "Bloody Sunday."

The screenings took place at the legendary Guild Cinema located at 3405 Central Avenue NE in Albuquerque. www.guildcinema.com Despite the heavy snowfall, the folks in Albuquerque turned out well for the screenings making this event the most well attended of any Irish Freedom Committee function in New Mexico to date.

Those attending the screenings included members of the local print media and
two television journalists.

The question and answer session following the 6:45 screening saw plenty of audience participation, it was noted that there were only six people who did not stay for the Q&A session.

Local media expressed interest in hearing about future Irish Freedom Committee events and will be contacted with plenty of lead time.

Our good friends at the Guild Cinema deserve hearty thanks for helping stage this event.

Thanks also go out to Bally Dunn for their participation in the lobby.

Local IFC members are now gearing up for the Irish Republican POW art show to take place at the Center for Peace and Justice from Friday March 16 through March 18. The Center for Peace and Justice is located at 202 Harvard Dr. SE, one block south of the main University of New Mexico campus.

ANNOUNCEMENT

The Irish Freedom Committee Presents "Bloody Sunday" -- 30 January 2007

The Original Bloody Sunday

On 30 January 1972, soldiers from the British Army's 1st Parachute Regiment opened fire on
unarmed and peaceful civilian demonstrators in the Bogside, Derry, Ireland, near the Rossville
flats, killing 13 and wounding a number of others. One wounded man later died from illness
attributed to that shooting.

The march, which was called to protest internment, was "illegal" according to British
government authorities. Internment without trial was introduced by the British government on
August 9, 1971.

The British-government-appointed Widgery Tribunal found soldiers were not guilty of shooting
dead the 13 civilians in cold blood.

Thirty-five years later and still no justice.

On 30 January 2007, The Irish Freedom Committee will host three showings of the remarkable
film "Bloody Sunday" at the Guild Cinema located at 3405 Central Ave. NE, Albuquerque.
