Irish Freedom Committee POW Christmas Drive

(CHICAGO) The Christmas Season is upon us again, and our thoughts turn
to the Irish republican
Political Prisoners and their families. Christmas is a lonely and
difficult time for the POWs,
and an especially hard time of year for their families on the outside;
many of whom have
large families of young children and spouses working several jobs to
make ends meet.
The Irish Freedom Committee has directly supported many families each
year at this time
and continues to do so with your much needed help. Our support is
greatly appreciated by
the families and has often been acknowledged by the families and former
and present
POWs.
Please join the Chicago cumann of the Irish Freedom Committee in our
annual Christmas
Card signing and Raffle for the Families, on SUNDAY DECEMBER 19th, 2010
from NOON
to 2PM at the The Abbey Pub, 3420 W. Grace. Our musical headliner is
Chicago's
balladeer JOE MONAHAN. Raffle prizes include POW-made crafts, Irish
republican tees,
books and more. There will also be speakers detailing the ongoing human
rights crisis at
Maghaberry Jail and an update from families and friends of Irish
republican prisoners who
are currently interned in some of the worst prison conditions Ireland
has seen in decades.
All proceeds of this event go direct to Families of Irish Republican
POWs.
