Subject: "FELON SETTING" - Statement from the Irish Freedom Committee IRISH FREEDOM COMMITTEE NEWSLIST www.irishfreedomcommittee.net ----------------------------- ------------------------------------------------ PRESS RELEASE 04/24/01 - 12:00 PM THE IRISH FREEDOM COMMITTEE Joe Dillon, Boston MA - National Chairman FELON SETTING Down through the long history of English usurpation, bloody occupation, and planned, attempted genocide; a perennial but small crop of creeping, crawling touts and informers have emerged to accept the Queen's shilling and, at the same time, destroy the health and lives of true Irishmen and women. Until now we have witnessed a frenzy of media coverage, including both allegations and outright disinformation, concerning David Rupert. Should this person's role as a paid informer prove true, he will have joined that pantheon of soulless, venal individuals who would sell his mother or brother in order to avert prison time himself. Only time will tell. Sadly, "felon-setters", those who would accept personal freedom and pecuniary reward in exchange for fabrications against patriotic lovers of Ireland, continue as despicable cancers upon the body politic of that nation. While we volunteers within the Irish Freedom Committee continue to focus upon our principal endeavor, assistance for families and dependents of present-day republican political prisoners; a certain grouping within the Metropolitan New York area continues to expend time, effort and energy in gratuitously disparaging us as individuals; as well as our professed mission. We wonder how this group can possibly offer maximum support to its publicly acknowledged foreign ally, when so much of the former's efforts are focused upon formenting discord and rancor in America? If one thinks about it, there are degrees and graduations within the term: "felon setting". In behalf of unity and ever-greater accomplishment to benefit a unified, independent Ireland; we proudly remain, The Irish Freedom Committee. | From: Irish Freedom Committee News List Sent: Monday, April 22, 2001 8:44 AM Subject: "TREASONOUS ACTIONS" - Statement from Charlie Keris Unit, Chicago Chapter IFC IRISH FREEDOM COMMITTEE NEWSLIST www.irishfreedomcommittee.net ----------------------------- ------------------------------------------------ PRESS RELEASE 04/22/01 - 2:00 PM THE IRISH FREEDOM COMMITTEE - CHARLIE KERINS UNIT, CHICAGO Frank O'Neill, Chairman TREASONOUS ACTIONS The Chicago Chapter of the Irish Freedom Committee, Charlie Kerins Unit; condemns in the harshest terms the treasonous and despicable actions of former associate David Rupert. Baser and more reviled than even our historical oppressor, the informer and turncoat will live in infamy in the hearts of Irish men and women, wherever they may be, from now ever forward. The informer knows full well the price of his deeds. The Irish Freedom Committee will survive and continue on in its much needed work on behalf of the families of the brave men and women who have stood up to defend their native land against illegal foreign military operations. The fate of the informer is less certain. ENDS Contact: Frank O'Neill Charlie Kerins Unit, Irish Freedom Committee P.O. | From: Irish Freedom Committee News List Sent: Saturday, April 14, 2001 2:21 PM To: List Member Subject: EASTER GREETINGS FROM THE IRISH FREEDOM COMMITTEE --------------------------------- THE IRISH FREEDOM COMMITTEE PRESS RELEASE CONTACT: Joe Dillon, National Chairman www.irishfreedomcommittee.net FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 04 14 01 12:00:00 CST EASTER GREETINGS FROM THE IRISH FREEDOM COMMITTEE The Irish Freedom Committee sends heartfelt Easter Greetings to all Irish Republican Political Prisoners incarcerated by fascist regimes on both sides of an illegally partitioned Ireland. To the dear families of these unbought republicans we pledge our continuing fealty and support. And to the traitors and gombeens who have sold out all true republican principles, and now accept the rule of the "Butchers Apron"; we pledge our undying enmity and opposition. The Irish Freedom Committee hereby solidly reaffirms our unshaken goals of support for all Irish republican POWs whose aim is the pursuit of the all-Ireland Republic, and whose organizations have not profited from the perks of the British-engineered Stormont Treaty. We reaffirm our stated charter, clearly stated in all founding documents; that the Irish Freedom Committee is a strictly U.S.-based organization, strictly devoted to education and POW support, with no foreign ties whatsoever. Despite the continuing and poisonous allegations of a media-savvy ex-member who hosts a New York radio show, the so-called "split" of the Irish Freedom Committee was initiated by the New York chapter of the IFC; following orders from the Dublin offices of Republican Sinn Fein. These orders are documented and may be seen upon request of the Irish Freedom Committee National Offices. National Incorporation of the Irish Freedom Committee was obtained in August of 1998. In a unanimous vote taken by the National Membership in May of 1999, the Irish Freedom Committee National Offices were established in Chicago. In January of 2000, pursuant to the wishes of a majority vote of the Irish Freedom Committee National Membership, efforts were undertaken to ensure the support of all qualifying POWs and their families. On March 31, 2000, the New York Chapter of the IFC announced its intentions to withdraw from the National Membership, in a series of phone calls to National Chapter Chairpersons of the IFC. The group which departed the National Membership-- New York IFC-- reincorporated in November of 2000 as "NIFC". The NIFC exists soley and openly as a support group for Republican Sinn Fein. NIFC has freely used the families of POWs it neither supports nor recognizes, when publicity opportunities arise. The Irish Freedom Committee will in no uncertain terms abandon its stated objectives, until such time as no Irish POW remains behind bars for his or her resistance effort in the quest of a sovereign and united Irish Republic; and no vestige of a hated foreign occupation remains in Ireland. Any other conjecture or insinuation is a dangerous attempt at felon-setting. The Irish Freedom Committee refuses to lower itself to the vile accusations of a few with the ear of the media. In time the spin-doctors will be seen for what they are. Sincere Easter wishes to our many dedicated and selfless supporters. Tiochfaidh ár Lá!
