| Three Irish POWs Repatriated To Ireland September 26, 2006 Please send a card today to each of three Irish Republican POWs successfully repatriated to Portlaoise Gaol this week. Michael McDonald, Declan Rafferty and Fintan Paul O’Farrell have finally been repatriated to Portlaoise prison in Ireland, after a sustained struggle with the Free State Justice Department that has cruelly dragged on for the past three years. The Irish Freedom Committee would like to thank all of our members and supporters who have lobbied the Free State Justice Department to allow Michael, Declan and Fintan to return to Ireland to serve out their sentences, as has been their right since 2002. We are disgusted that this process took four years to be completed, as any British prisoner would have been promptly returned to an English jail in far less time had the situation been the other way around.
