Subject: Christmas Cards to POWs Date: Friday December 4, 2009 Please send Christmas cards to Republican POWs in Ireland this weekend! Writing cards is a small effort anybody can make to bring a great boost in morale to an Irish republican locked up for the Christmas holidays. It is also an enormous help to the families left behind to know that here in the US we have not forgotten the sacrifices these families have undertaken. A list follows below for your convenience, please let the POW know you recieved their name from the Irish Freedom Committee website. Christmas cards can be purchased in bulk packs of 15 to 18 for under $15.00 at most discount stores. Your message doesn't have to be long or involved, even just a signature will do if you're pressed for time. A single stamp to Ireland or Britain costs .98˘ per 1-ounce letter, Lithuania postage costs $1.25. Alternately you can place all cards going to a single prison into a large envelope and send them Global Priority at the post office for about $13.00 (4lbs and under). Please enclose extra cards as indicated on our list for Remand or as yet unlisted political prisoners. (Note these costs from US only).
