`SUICIDE' CLAIM FOR POW JOHN BRADY REJECTED

The Irish Freedom Committee totally rejects a suicide claim for the death in police custody of Strabane Republican John Brady.

John Brady was found dead at a cell in the Strand Road police barracks in Derry on Saturday morning. He had been arrested while out on temporary leave from Maghaberry jail, where he had been serving a life sentence. John was due to be released in five weeks.

We demand to know what happened in police barracks to cause John's death. There is no plausible reason for a suicide claim in his death. John's family have also rejected the suicide allegation by police, and as a consequence have been continually harassed with police vehicles stalking their home.

A vigil was held yesterday outside police barracks, attended by members of the 32 County Sovereignty Movement, the Irish Republican Socialist Party, and the Republican Network for Unity.

Please watch for further updates for action steps from our supporters.
