Dear Supporter, Over the past few months, Irish Republican Political Prisoners interned at Maghaberry and Portlaoise prisons have sent the Irish Freedom Committee a WISH LIST of BOOK TITLES that they hope to have for the Christmas holidays. Our books drive has been an enormous success thus far, with over 50 books already sponsored by donors across the country and overseas, many of which have already been sent. There are still several books wanted by the POWs on the IFC WISH LIST OF BOOKS. Many are NEW TITLES that have come in last week from Portlaoise prison. As the titles will attest, a great importance is placed on political and historical education by the Irish Republican POWs during their long internments. Recently, the historic republican prisoners’ book collection from Long Kesh Prison was retired to the Linen Hall Library in Belfast as a document to the prison struggle up to 1998. Let’s help build a new library for the POWs whose shelves were left empty after the signing of the 1998 Stormont Treaty. Please look at the selection linked below and sponsor a book for a prisoner today!!
